From 1869 to the present day: innovation meets tradition

PORR was formed in 1869 as ’Allgemeine österreichische Baugesellschaft’. With over 11,000 staff and production output of around EUR 3.4bn (2013), the PORR Group is one of the Austrian largest construction companies and a leading player in Europe. With numerous offices across Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, PORR has been involved in many trailblazing construction projects. Furthermore, PORR is expanding into international markets in the Middle East, priority Qatar.
In Poland, PORR  has been involved in the construction business since 1987, commissioned by foreign and Polish Investors. Hotel Holiday Inn in Warsaw was the first investment completed in Poland. Completion of other investments led to the formation of Porr (Polska)  S.A., which was established in 1993.
During almost 30 years of our presence in Poland PORR managed to complete many “turn key” representative buildings here such as Hotel Intercontinental at Emilia Plater Street, Warsaw Financial Centre, Library of the Warsaw University in Powisle, Sheraton Warsaw Hotel and Stock Exchange building, Old Brewery in Poznan, as well as Auditorium Maximum in Jagiellonian University in Cracow.

On 22.09.2015  Porr (Polska) S.A. changed its name to PORR Polska Construction S.A. and focuses on its main fields of competence: building construction and railway construction.

The business includes “turn key” finishing of buildings using high-quality materials and workmanship. The main areas of our business include in particular general and industrial construction in Poland, including hotels, office and educational buildings, house building industry, commercial centres and industrial buildings.

The PORR  Group is experienced and competent in the construction and maintenance of ballast-free tracks. The spectrum of services includes the construction of new and the reconstruction, modernization of old tracks, the conservation, repair of the foundation, availability of machines and track processing. The relatively young Railway Department of PORR Polska Construction S.A.  has already successfully completed several projects and is gaining more and more interesting tasks.

In Poland the PORR Group also embraces PORR Polska Infrastructure S.A. which is in charge of operations in road construction, bridge construction, engineering and power plant construction.
