After signing the contract, PORR will have 13 months to carry out the construction design together with obtaining the ZRID decision (permission to implement the road investment). After receiving the ZRID and handing over the construction site, construction works will begin, which will last 22 months. The bypass is to be ready within 35 months of signing the contract, i.e. we should use the new provincial road in spring 2026.

The contract provides for the connection of three provincial roads No. 786, 785 and 742 outside the city center on its southern side. As part of the construction of the 4.1-kilometre-long bypass, a 7-meter-wide roadway of the provincial road will be built, along with shoulders and the necessary drainage, and the existing networks will be reconstructed. Overpasses will be built - over the existing section of the provincial road 785 and over the Central Railway Line. Within the scope of the task, intersections with existing roads, service roads as well as pedestrian and driving routes and exits to plots without access to other public roads will be constructed.

– The second stage of the ring road will be 4 km long. Two viaducts will be built, one will go over the railway tracks and this will certainly be a challenge for us. We also have high-voltage lines that we will also have to deal with. We will also add a second viaduct to the existing one. We don't know exactly what the situation looks like in the ground, but the documentation shows that there should be no problems. We are forced to cut down a piece of forest, but it is also important that this investment will not collide with any buildings, so the residents can be calm - explains Andrzej Belniak, Director of the South Poland Region at PORR S.A., who will be responsible for the implementation of the investment.
