Extension of LK354 Poznań-Piła

The first contract provides for increasing the capacity of railway line LK354 by adding a second track on the section from Oborniki Wlkp. Most junction signal box to Oborniki Wlkp. station as well as the construction of a passing loop in Parkowo between Oborniki Wlkp. and Rogoźno Wlkp. stations. PORR will also be responsible for extending the railway bridge over the Warta River by adding an additional span. By eliminating the current limitations caused by the single-track river crossing, train traffic on this section will become smoother and more predictable. As part of the project, PORR will also build two new platforms at the stops in Parków and Oborniki Wielkopolskie. The second one will be connected to the existing platform by a new underpass, which will be equipped with lifts. The modernised section will be fitted with new computer-based railway traffic control systems (SRK). PORR will also construct three line blocks and upgrade four level crossings. The work will take 12 months to complete.

For PORR, this is the second contract involving the railway line LK354 Poznań-Piła. The company already worked on this section between 2017 and 2019. PORR’s largest rail contract at the time involved the upgrade of 142km of track.

Modernisation of LK356 Wągrowiec-Gołańcz

Under the other contract, PORR will restore railway connections on line LK356 between the town of Wągrowiec and the border of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province. On the nearly 27-kilometre section, the track infrastructure will be modernised: we will reinforce the subgrade, replace the sleepers and install new rails, enabling trains to run at higher speeds of up to 120 km/h. The highest level of safety will be ensured by modern traffic control systems installed along the route, accompanied by the reconstruction of 13 level crossings and 48 engineering structures. The line will be able to accommodate more trains thanks to the construction of passing loops in Roszkowo Wągrowieckie and Grylewo. PORR will also upgrade the stations and stops in Roszkowo, Kobylec, Grylewo, Laskownica, Gołańcz and Panigródz and build a rail stop in Wągrowiec. All platforms will be fitted with new shelters, benches and bright lighting. Thanks to ramps, all passengers, including those with limited mobility, will be able to access them with ease. The work will take 14 months to complete.
