The expansion of Rudowe Quay III will include a 232.5-meter-long section and an 18-meter-long section of the Administrative Quay. The project will include the construction of a new quay with a slab structure supported on a grid of reinforced concrete piles, with a steel combined sheet pile wall in front. The quay will also feature a 265-meter-long railroad track. As a result of the dredging work, part of the Mining Basin will be deepened to 11.20 m (currently from 6.1 to 10.2 m).
As for the Bytomskie quay, the modernization will include two sections: a slab section of about 143 m and a slope section of 60 m. With this task, the quay will be extended to 203 m as a result of the flooding of the 60 m slope wharf. Like the Rudowe quay, the new Bytomskie quay will have a slab structure supported by a grid of reinforced concrete piles, with a steel combined sheet pile wall in front. The quay will be surfaced with cement concrete reinforced with dispersed reinforcement. As a result of the dredging work, the parts at the quay will be deepened to 10.20 meters (currently about 6 meters).
For both quays, a new water supply system, a storm drainage system with a treatment system, a power grid and new energy-efficient lighting will also be built. The quays will be equipped with point fenders and mooring bollards with a capacity of 100T. The construction of the quays is to be prepared for the later implementation of a system for supplying ships from land while at berth - the so-called OPS.
