PORR to build the MIKATO apartment building in central Katowice

Warsaw, 30.05.2025 - PORR S.A. has signed a contract with Archicom Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością Śląsk Sp. k. for the construction of a residential complex in Katowice. Named MIKATO, the development is the first residential project in the province of Upper Silesia to be carried out by Archicom, a member of the Echo Group. The building will consist of three segments, the tallest of which will reach nearly 59 metres in height. Structural works began in mid-May and are scheduled for completion within 14 months.
The MIKATO residential complex will be built on the site of the former long-distance bus station, within the block bordered by Sokolska, Ks. Piotra Skargi and SÅ‚owackiego Streets in Katowice. Under the contract, PORR is responsible for carrying out the structural works for the development, including earthworks, reinforced concrete works and masonry. The structure of MIKATO will comprise three towers, with heights measured to the parapet of approximately 59 m, 50 m and 40 m, corresponding to 18, 15 and 12 storeys respectively. The towers will be connected by a shared two-level underground car park and a common ground floor, which will house commercial and retail units. MIKATO will also offer full facilities for cyclists, with space for over 400 bicycles.
The total volume of the development will exceed 110,000 cubic metres, with a usable area of nearly 15,000 cubic metres. The complex will house 341 flats and 6 commercial units.
