PORR with another contract for modernisation of breakwaters in the Port of Gdańsk

Warsaw, 10.12.2021 - The Maritime Office in Gdynia has selected PORR S.A. as the general contractor for the reconstruction of the northern island breakwater in the North Port of Gdańsk. The full scope of works specified in the contract will be completed within 16 months. The value of the contract is nearly PLN 27 million gross.

Within the framework of the signed contract PORR will carry out reconstruction and demolition works of the northern breakwater located in the area of the Naftoport Oil Terminal. The scope of works includes demolition and repair of concrete structures, concrete paving, shotcrete works, reinforced concrete works, and repair of breakwater navigation lighting.

The works will be carried out in the immediate vicinity of the new protective breakwaters, built by a consortium of PORR and Roverpol between 2019 and 2021. The project, worth over PLN 600 million gross, was one of the largest hydrotechnical investments carried out in Poland in recent years. Its implementation allowed to increase safety and capacity of shipping in the North Port of Gdańsk.
